I have this theory that we're all nostalgic for a time we never really lived or only caught a glimpse of. Born in 1998, I've spent most of my life looking backward, romanticizing decades I either missed entirely or was too young to fully experience. If only I could have been 25 in 1999 or 21 in 2005. Of course, I'm probably glorifying those years but growing up between physical and digital media has given me a sense of longing for a more present world. I want to know what it felt like to meet someone at a bar before everyone had a phone to disappear into. I want to rave before it could be posted on social media. I don't want my generation to be remembered as one that forgot how to socialize in real life. I think this is why I've devoted the last ten years of my life to vintage clothing. It's never just been about the clothes. It's about preserving the feeling of a world I never got to live in—a way of connecting with a culture and way of life that feels increasingly out of reach.
Though cloth of the curb exists only online, it is very much a reality.
